Cookies and Analytics on peakify.ai
Cookies we always use
If you sign in, we set cookies that keep you signed in (a session cookie, and a "remember me" cookie if you choose it). Without them the account features can't work. If you don't sign in, we set none of these.
Analytics cookies (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people visit and how they use them, so we can improve the site. It sets
cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) and sends Google your page views, an approximate location from your IP address,
and your browser and device type. Google Analytics does not load, and sets no cookies, until you choose Accept on the cookie
banner. If you choose Reject, it never loads.
Settings kept on your device
Your cookie choice, the units you pick (°C or °F, mph or km/h, metres or feet) and any personal summit limits are saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Changing your choice
Use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to change your choice at any time. To remove analytics cookies that were already set, clear this site's cookies in your browser.
Other services our pages load
Mountain pages load maps from Mapbox and rain radar from RainViewer. These services receive your IP address when they send the map or radar to your browser, under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Security
We use secure encryption and industry-standard practices to protect your data. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
While we strive for robust security, no system is completely risk-free.
Data Retention
- Race content, GPX files, routes, checkpoints, and saved activity content persist until you delete them or delete your account.
- Connected service data, including Garmin, Strava, and Apple Health data, is retained only as long as needed to provide Peakify features, maintain your account, troubleshoot issues, or comply with legal obligations.
- Live location data is retained only as needed to provide live tracking and related route features, unless you save or share related activity content.
- Diagnostics and logs are retained for a limited period needed for troubleshooting, security, and service improvement.
5. Your Rights
You may:
- Request your stored data
- Ask for data correction
- Request account deletion
- Disable location access at any time
- Disconnect Strava, Garmin Connect, or Apple Health permissions at any time
- Cancel your subscription via Apple
