The hill bagging app that does your peak bagging for you
Peakify is an iPhone app for UK hillwalkers that keeps your hill lists for you. Connect Strava, Garmin or Apple Health and it finds every summit your GPS tracks pass over, then ticks them off across the Munros, Wainwrights and 46 other challenges.
Download Peakify on the App StoreHow peak bagging works in the hill bagging app
Most hill bagging means a spreadsheet, a paper list or a website where you tick each top by hand after the walk. Peakify takes a different approach: it reads the activities you already record. When a run, walk or ride from Strava, Garmin Connect or Apple Health passes close enough to a summit, Peakify logs it as bagged, with the date and the activity as proof.
You decide how close is close enough. One GPS distance setting applies to every source, so a track that skirts below a summit cairn doesn't count unless you want it to. Older activities count too: Garmin Connect can import your full activity history and Peakify reads the workouts already in Apple Health, so years of hill days can fill in your lists at once.
Each summit can sit on several lists. Bag Helvellyn and it ticks off a Wainwright, a Hewitt, a Nuttall and part of the Lake District 3000ers in one go. That is what makes automatic peak bagging useful: you climb once and every list moves.
Bagging features in Peakify
Automatic summit detection
Connect Strava, Garmin or Apple Health and Peakify matches your GPS tracks against nearby peaks. You choose how close a track must pass for a summit to count, and the setting applies to every source.
48 summit challenges
From the National, Yorkshire, Welsh and Scottish Three Peaks to the Welsh 3000s, the Bob Graham, Paddy Buckley and Ramsay Rounds, the full hill lists and a set of Alpine 4000er trips. Each challenge shows your next targets, a timeline and a map.
Bagged summits list
Every summit you have logged, filterable by name and height. Open one to see the activities and the route that prove it.
Bagged summits map
A map of the summits you have and haven't bagged in the area you are looking at, so unclimbed tops near your usual hills stand out.
All-in-one badges
Climb every summit in a challenge in one logged activity, such as a Welsh 3000s day or a Bob Graham Round, and the challenge earns its all-in-one badge. You can share a challenge image too.
Report a wrong match
If a summit or challenge match looks wrong, tell Peakify from the app.
Summits on Strava
Peakify can add the summits you reached to new Strava activity descriptions, so your followers see which peaks you climbed.
Summit widgets (Pro)
Home Screen widgets for your top bagged summits, your latest summits and your progress on one challenge.

For trips abroad there are Alpine 4000er groups around Zermatt, Saas-Fee, the Bernese Oberland and Mont Blanc, and the Dolomites classics.
Plan the next one
Bagging is half the fun; choosing the next hill is the other half. Each challenge lists your next targets and maps the summits you still need. The explore map can filter to bagged or unbagged peaks, and every mountain has a summit forecast, so you can match a free weekend to a top you haven't done. Browse the Munros or the Wainwrights on the web to see routes and heights.
Hill bagging app questions
Is Peakify a free hill bagging app?
Yes. Summit detection, the 48 challenges, the bagged summits list and the bagged summits map are free. Peakify Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription, adds the summit widgets and other extras such as GPX export.
How does peak bagging work in Peakify?
Peakify reads the GPS tracks of your activities from Strava, Garmin Connect or Apple Health and checks them against the summits in its database. A summit counts when your track passes within the distance you set, and it ticks off every challenge that includes it.
Can I track Munros and Wainwrights?
Yes. The Munros (282), Munro Tops, Corbetts, Grahams, Donalds, Wainwrights (214), Hewitts, Nuttalls, Marilyns and County Tops are all challenges in the app, alongside rounds such as the Bob Graham, Paddy Buckley and Ramsay.
Do I have to log each summit by hand?
No. Peakify finds the summits from your recorded GPS activities, including older ones it imports from Garmin Connect or Apple Health. If a match looks wrong you can report it from the app.
Does the hill bagging app work on Android?
Not at the moment. Peakify is an iPhone app. The mountain pages, forecasts and route information on peakify.ai work in any browser.
