About Ben More
Ben More is the highest point of the Isle of Mull and the only Munro on any Scottish island apart from Skye. It is also a Marilyn, and because it rises from the sea its prominence equals its full height. The mountain sits above Loch na Keal on the west side of the island, with Beinn Fhada 2.3 km to the north-east.
The usual route starts at Dhiseig, on the shore road by Loch na Keal, and climbs the north-west slopes on a clear path. The upper ground is stony and steep. A finer line goes over A' Chioch, a rocky ridge to the east, which gives some easy scrambling along a narrow crest before joining the summit ridge.
The summit has a stone shelter. On a clear day you look over Mull to Ulva, Staffa, the Treshnish Isles, Coll, Tiree and the mainland hills. Weather comes in fast off the sea, so watch the sky on the way up.
Ben More is 966 m (3,169 ft) high with 966 m of prominence. It is in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is the 15th highest of the 108 summits Peakify lists in Argyll and Bute. The nearest summits are A' Chioch (1.0 km), Beinn Fhada NW Top (2.8 km) and Beinn Fhada (2.3 km).
