About Peakify
Peakify is built and run by me, Sam Tyler. I'm a hillwalker, mostly in Eryri and the Lake District, and I've logged every summit in the Peakify app since June 2020.
The hills behind the site
The peaks I know best, from my own logged climbs:
- Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon): 22 times, most recently in June 2026
- Glyder Fawr: 9 times
- Crib y Ddysgl: 8 times
- Helvellyn: 7 times, including Striding Edge 8 times
Progress on the hill challenges listed on this site:
| Snowdonia 900 m peaks | 14 of 16 summits |
| Welsh 3000s | 13 of 15 summits |
| Carneddau traverse | 6 of 7 summits |
| Lake District 3000ers | 3 of 4 summits |
| Scottish Three Peaks | 1 of 3 summits |
| Spaghetti Tour, Monte Rosa (Alps) | 6 of 14 summits |
| Mont Blanc massif classics (Alps) | 2 of 8 summits |
From my Peakify app, October 2026.
How the site is made
The mountain forecasts are worked out automatically from computer weather models for each summit's real height. No forecaster writes them. How our forecast works lists the sources, the limits behind each Good, Marginal or Poor verdict, and what a model can't see.
Route lines are plotted on the map and checked against the paths, and you can download them as GPX. Peakify forecasts the weather; it can't tell you about ice on a shaded path or a closed track. Before a big day, also read MWIS or the Met Office mountain forecast.
