About Driesh

Driesh stands at the head of Glen Clova in the Angus Glens, above the forest of Glen Doll. It is a Munro and a HuMP, with a broad grassy top on the southern edge of the high Mounth plateau. Its neighbour Mayar lies to the west, and Tom Buidhe, the nearest higher hill, 7.7 km to the north-west.

The usual start is the Glen Doll car park at the end of the Glen Clova road. One popular round climbs Corrie Fee, a glacial corrie with a waterfall, onto the plateau. You then walk to Mayar and east along the edge to Driesh, before descending the Shank of Drumfollow and back through the forest. A shorter route climbs the Shank of Drumfollow to the plateau edge and turns east to Driesh.

The plateau between the two Munros is broad and boggy. In mist, follow the fence lines with a compass to hand.

Driesh is 948 m (3,109 ft) high with 137 m of prominence. It is in Cairngorms, Scotland. It is the 115th highest of the 525 summits Peakify lists in Cairngorms. The nearest summits are Shank of Drumfollow (1.3 km), Hill of Strone (1.8 km) and Craig Mellon (3.9 km).
