The Minffordd Path, from the south, is the classic route: it climbs through woodland into Cwm Cau, then around the rim above Llyn Cau to the summit. The Pony Path from Ty Nant on the north side is longer and gentler. The Fox's Path, which climbs scree from Llyn y Gadair, is eroded and loose, and many walkers avoid it.
