Sgurr na Ciche rises above the head of Loch Nevis, at the western end of the long ridge between Glen Dessarry and Knoydart. It is a Munro and a Marilyn, and its pointed summit stands out from far down Loch Nevis. Garbh Chioch Mhor lies 0.9 km to the south-east along a rough, rocky ridge, and Garbh Chioch Bheag 1.8 km in the same direction. Sgurr Fhuaran, the nearest higher hill, stands 21.4 km to the north.
Most walkers approach from the end of the public road at the west end of Loch Arkaig. A long track and path lead up Glen Dessarry, and you climb to the Bealach an Lagain Duibh, then up the gully of Feadan na Ciche to the col under the summit. Many walkers combine it with the Garbh Chioch peaks along the ridge, where a dry-stone wall helps in mist.
