About Ladhar Bheinn

Ladhar Bheinn rises from the south shore of Loch Hourn in Knoydart, a peninsula with no road link to the rest of the mainland. It is a Munro and a Marilyn, and the most westerly Munro on the mainland. Its finest feature is Coire Dhorrcail, a deep corrie on the north-east side ringed by crags. Stob a Choire Odhair lies 0.7 km to the north-east, and Sgurr na Ciche, the nearest higher hill, 10.7 km to the south-east.

You reach Knoydart by ferry from Mallaig to Inverie, or by walking the coast path from Kinloch Hourn to Barrisdale. From Barrisdale a path leads into Coire Dhorrcail and up the ridge of Stob a Choire Odhair to the summit ridge. From Inverie, the route follows Gleann na Guiserein and climbs the long western slopes.

The summit ridge is narrow in places, with steep drops into Coire Dhorrcail. In winter it needs ice axe and crampons.
