About Meall Glas
Meall Glas rises north of Glen Dochart, between Crianlarich and Killin. It reaches 959m (3,146 ft), a broad grassy hill with Beinn Cheathaich 1.3 km to the north-east and Beinn nan Imirean 1.7 km to the south-west. Beinn Challuim, the nearest higher hill, lies 4.4 km west.
The usual start is Auchessan on the Glen Dochart road. A track leads north up the glen, then you cross rough, wet ground and climb onto the ridge, over Beinn Cheathaich to the summit. Many walkers continue east to Sgiath Chuil for a two-Munro day.
The lower ground is boggy and pathless in places. In cloud the ridge is broad enough that you need a compass. The hill sees fewer walkers than the Crianlarich Munros to the west, so expect faint paths.
Meall Glas is 959 m (3,147 ft) high with 554 m of prominence. It is in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs, Scotland. It is the 16th highest of the 192 summits Peakify lists in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs.
