About Sergeant Man

Sergeant Man rises at the south-east edge of the broad High Raise plateau, between Easedale and Great Langdale. It is a small, sharp rocky top, and it looks more like a summit than its parent. High Raise is 0.8 km north-west, Codale Head 0.3 km north-east, and Pavey Ark 1.0 km south.

From Grasmere, a popular path follows Easedale Beck past Sour Milk Gill to Easedale Tarn, then climbs rougher ground by Codale Tarn to the summit. From Great Langdale, walkers climb to Stickle Tarn below Pavey Ark and head north over the moor. Both paths are rocky in places and wet in others.

The top looks east across Grasmere to Fairfield and south over the Langdale Pikes. It is easy to add High Raise and the Langdale Pikes to a round from either valley.

Sergeant Man is 736 m (2,415 ft) high with 12 m of prominence. It is in Cumbria, England. It is the 113th highest of the 273 summits Peakify lists in Cumbria. The nearest summits are Codale Head (0.3 km), Pavey Ark (1.0 km) and High Raise (0.8 km).
