About Loadpot Hill
Loadpot Hill sits on the long grassy ridge that runs north from High Street towards Pooley Bridge, on the east side of Ullswater. The line of the old Roman road, also called High Street, passes over its upper slopes. Wether Hill lies 1.3 km to the south, and Bonscale Pike and Arthur's Pike stand on the edge above Ullswater to the north.
The summit has a trig pillar, and the ruined chimney of a shooting lodge stands on the slope nearby. The usual route starts from Pooley Bridge and crosses Moor Divock, then follows the Roman road south up the broad ridge. From Howtown you can climb by Fusedale or via Bonscale Pike and Arthur's Pike. All the routes are on grass and easy to follow in clear weather.
Loadpot Hill is a Wainwright, a Hewitt, a Nuttall and a Birkett. The ridge is broad and featureless, so in mist use the Roman road line or a compass to stay on course.
Loadpot Hill is 672 m (2,205 ft) high with 50 m of prominence. It is in Cumbria, England. It is the 182nd highest of the 273 summits Peakify lists in Cumbria. The nearest summits are Wether Hill (1.3 km), Swarth Fell (1.5 km) and Wether Hill (1.7 km).
