About Sgurr na Lapaich
Sgurr na Lapaich rises above the north shore of Loch Mullardoch, between Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. It is a Munro and a Marilyn, and the highest of the hills north of the loch. Sgurr nan Clachan Geala, a top, lies 0.9 km to the south, Carn nan Gobhar 2.2 km to the east and An Riabhachan 2.8 km to the west. The nearest higher mountain is Carn Eighe, 9.7 km to the south across the loch.
Most walkers start at the Loch Mullardoch dam at the head of Glen Cannich. You can climb Carn nan Gobhar first and follow the ridge west to Sgurr na Lapaich, or go up its steep south-east slopes direct. The ground is rough grass, boulders and some steep rock near the top. Strong walkers carry on west over An Riabhachan in a long round of the Mullardoch Munros.
The summit is a narrow point with steep slopes, and in winter the upper ground needs care.
Sgurr na Lapaich is 1,152 m (3,779 ft) high with 841 m of prominence. It is in Highland, Scotland. It is the 11th highest of the 1,458 summits Peakify lists in Highland. The nearest summits are Rubha na Spreidhe (0.5 km), Sgurr nan Clachan Geala (0.9 km) and Braigh a' Choire Bhig (1.7 km).
