About Seathwaite Fell

Seathwaite Fell rises above Seathwaite at the head of Borrowdale, wedged between the paths to Esk Hause and Sty Head. The Wainwright summit is the northern cairn, overlooking Seathwaite; the facts list a higher top 0.5 km south. Base Brown is 1.4 km north and Green Gable 1.5 km west.

The usual way up starts at Seathwaite. Walk to Stockley Bridge, then climb the Sty Head path or the Grains Gill path and leave it for the plateau. From Sprinkling Tarn you can wander north across the humps to the summit. The ground is rough and pathless in places, so it needs care in mist.
