About Brae Fell
Brae Fell stands at the northern edge of the Uldale Fells, in the quiet country north of Skiddaw known as back o' Skiddaw. Great Sca Fell lies 1.3 km south and Longlands Fell 1.3 km west. Knott, the highest of this group, is 2.3 km south.
The fell is grass on all sides, with a long northern slope dropping to farmland. Walkers climb it from the north or west, often as part of a round of the Uldale Fells that takes in Longlands Fell, Great Sca Fell and Knott. The paths are faint, and the rounded tops look alike in mist.
The summit looks north over the Solway plain to the Scottish hills, and south to the grassy backs of Knott and Great Sca Fell. Few people come this way, so you may have the top to yourself.
