About Glyder Fach

Glyder Fach is the eastern of the two main Glyderau summits, a plateau of shattered rock between Ogwen and the Llanberis Pass. It reaches 994m (3261ft) and is a Furth, a Hewitt, a Nuttall and one of the Welsh 3000s. Castell y Gwynt (972m) is 0.3km to the south-west, Tryfan (918m) 1.3km north-east, and Glyder Fawr (1001m), the nearest higher hill, 1.4km west.

The scramblers' route starts at Ogwen, climbs to Bwlch Tryfan and goes up Bristly Ridge. Walkers can avoid the scramble by taking the scree path up the side of Bristly Ridge from Bwlch Tryfan, or by climbing the Miners' Track from Pen y Gwryd.

The summit is a pile of large boulders that needs scrambling to reach the highest point. Nearby is the Cantilever Stone, a large slab balanced on a rock.
